Bored Apes, Sneaky Vampire NFT Champagne Sold For US$2.5M
A Champagne bearing five non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the surface of its bottle, including the likes of well-known collections Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) spinoff Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) and a Sneaky Vampire, sold for US$2.5 million in a private sale last Friday.

The new owners of the world’s most expensive Champagne are brothers Giovanni and Piero Buono, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Tuesday.

The Champagne bottle came with complimentary transfers of the NFTs, those of which are stamped on the bottle.

“I don’t plan to drink it. I think it will be a good investment,” one of the brothers reportedly said.

The brothers argued that the record-breaking booze and NFT investment is a safe store of value.

The bottle is currently priced 2,500 ETH at NFT marketplace OpenSea, but due recent volatilities observed in the cryptocurrency market, the transaction was carried out in U.S. dollars, according to the WSJ.

The NFT bottle, named Magnum 2.5, was minted by wine distributor Champagne Avenue Foch and designed by BAYC artist Mig, who is also the creator of the Sneaky Vampire Syndicate NFT collection.
